The International Institute
of San Francisco is able to affect growth and change within immigrant
and refugee communities. Perhaps now more than ever before, the Institute
is in a position to help protect the rights of immigrants, as mainstream
and political opinions push for fewer civil liberties for non-citizens
and greater restrictions on entry into the US. Our clients are the newcomers
who are likely to experience a new wave of backlash against their ethnicity,
countries of origin, as well as their religious and cultural identities,
while they are working, paying taxes, and adjusting to life in the United
States.
Below is a brief profile of the people the Institute
helped in 2004.
